Measuring for Recess Fit (inside the window frame)

-Measure the width of your window recess in three places – across the  very top, through the middle, and along the bottom. Record the smallest width.

-Measure the height in three places – left side, centre, and right side. Again, record the smallest height.

- Use these exact figures when ordering your cassette and blind. Don’t take off any extra amounts yourself.

- A minimum of 50mm depth inside the frame is needed. If you have less than 90mm, the cassette may extend slightly into the room. This is normal and won’t spoil the appearance, as the cassette includes neat side covers.

Tip: Windows are rarely perfectly square. Expect a small clearance (around 2mm or more) on the width and height. To achieve full blockout, you may need to seal the edges with no-gap silicone, or fit a slim timber beading behind the side channels.

If you only order a cassette with side channels, fitting is simpler.

Measure - Face Fit

Measuring for Face Fit (outside the frame)

  • If your window has a timber architrave, measure using the usual face fit method.
  • Measure the width of your window face in three places – across the very top, through the middle, and along the bottom. Record the smallest width. Measure the height in three places – left side, centre, and right side. Again, record the smallest height.
  • Check that no decorative trim or moulding prevents the cassette or side channels from sitting flat.

Face Fit for Square Set Windows (no timber trim)

  1. Measure the full window opening.
  2. Add: 100mm above the opening for the cassette,
50mm minimum to each side and the bottom for the side channels.
  3. If you’re only using top and side channels, extend the blind further below the opening for better light control.
  4. Make sure there’s enough clearance above and around the opening.
  5. Don’t use this option if a window sill projects out at the bottom.
Things to Know
  • Our roller blinds are designed to work only with our cassette system. They cannot be added to existing blinds.
  • At manufacturing, we make the required adjustments so the blind fits neatly inside the cassette, including a slightly shorter base rail.
  • Blinds must be ordered as an under roll with flat bottom rail only (fabric falling behind the tube) for correct operation in the cassette.
  • Always use the same set of measurements for both the blind and the cassette while ordering.
