How to Measure Outdoor Blinds(Awnings)

Measure every opening individually using a steel tape measure and record all measurements in millimetres (mm). Outdoor openings can vary, even if they appear identical.

• ✔ Check the mounting surface is suitable
• ✔ Note any downpipes, lights or other obstructions
• ✔ Decide whether you require Face Fit or Reveal Fit
• ✔ Measure twice before ordering

Face Fit is the most popular installation method for outdoor awning blinds. The blind is mounted outside the opening to maximise privacy and weather protection.

• Measure the overall width you would like the blind to cover.
• Allow approximately 50–100mm overlap on each side where possible.
• Measure the drop from the mounting point to the desired finished height.
• If the ground is uneven, measure to the lowest point.

Reveal Fit places the blind inside the opening. Accurate measurements are essential.

• Measure the width at the top, middle and bottom.
• Use the smallest width measurement.
• Measure the drop on the left, centre and right.
• Use the smallest drop measurement.
• Do not make deductions unless instructed by OnlineBlinds4U.

• Measure every opening separately.
