Our Warranty

OnlineBlinds4U is pleased to offer warranties on our blinds, curtains, components and motorisation products. Warranty periods vary depending on the product and component, as outlined below.

Our warranties apply in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). Nothing in this warranty is intended to exclude, restrict or modify any rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded.

Important: Customer Measurements

All blinds are custom-made to the measurements supplied by the customer. Please carefully check your measurements before placing your order.

If incorrect measurements are supplied by the customer, the cost of collection, delivery and re-making, resizing or cutting down the blinds may be payable by the customer.

If the issue is confirmed to be a manufacturing fault, OnlineBlinds4U will arrange the applicable warranty remedy at no additional cost, subject to the terms of this warranty.

How to Make a Warranty Claim

To assess a warranty claim, customers may be required to provide:

  • Clear photographs of the issue.
  • A video demonstrating the fault where applicable.
  • Details of the order and product affected.
  • A description of the problem and when it occurred.

Providing clear photographs and videos helps us determine whether the issue is related to manufacturing, installation, operation, normal wear and tear or another cause.

What Is Not Covered

Warranty does not cover damage or faults caused by:

  • Incorrect measurements supplied by the customer.
  • Accidental damage.
  • Misuse, mishandling or improper operation.
  • Unauthorised modifications or alterations.
  • Improper installation.
  • Incorrect cleaning or maintenance.
  • Normal wear and tear.
  • Fabric fading caused by prolonged exposure to sunlight.
  • Damage caused by insects or pets.
  • Damage caused by blinds being operated incorrectly.
  • Damage resulting from windows that are out of square.
  • Fabric fraying or tearing caused by uneven rolling.

Roller blinds can occasionally track or roll unevenly, particularly on smaller blinds or where installation conditions are not perfectly square. Incorrect installation can also cause the fabric to contact the chain drive or other components, potentially resulting in fabric damage.

Fabric Bagging, V-ing & Curling

Larger roller and screen blinds may naturally experience some degree of fabric bagging, V-ing, bowing or movement due to the width of the blind, fabric characteristics and the weight of the fabric.

Blinds wider than approximately 2500mm and/or longer than approximately 3000mm may be more susceptible to these characteristics. Delicate fabrics may also be more susceptible.

These characteristics are not necessarily considered manufacturing defects and may not be covered by warranty where they are a normal characteristic of the selected fabric or blind size.

Motorisation & Service Warranty (Installed By Onlineblinds4u Team Only)

Motorised blind motors and remote controls are covered according to the warranty periods listed below.

Installation workmanship is covered for 1 year from the installation date.

After the first 12 months, approved warranty claims may include replacement parts at no charge. A fixed $100 service call-out fee applies for inspection, attendance and replacement labour where applicable.

BMAA Industry Guideline

The Blind Manufacturers Association of Australia (BMAA) has prepared industry guidelines to assist manufacturers and retailers when assessing perceived product faults.

The guideline is not a substitute for legal advice and does not override the Australian Consumer Law or applicable Australian Standards.

Recommended Industry Guideline for Faults

  • An imperfection visible to the naked eye in natural daylight from approximately 1.2 metres is generally considered unacceptable.
  • An imperfection not visible to the naked eye in natural daylight from approximately 1.2 metres is generally considered acceptable.

Minor colour variations may occur between colour samples and the final product. Samples are provided as a guide only and variations may occur with fabrics, paint, stains and lacquers.

Additional Warranty Conditions

  • Warranty does not cover transportation to or from our premises unless otherwise required under Australian Consumer Law.
  • Products ordered outside the manufacturer's prescribed maximum width or drop may not be covered by warranty.
  • The warranty is non-transferable, subject to any rights that cannot legally be excluded.
  • Warranty claims are subject to assessment and verification of the reported fault.

Australian Consumer Law

Our warranty is provided in addition to any rights and remedies you may have under the Australian Consumer Law. Our warranty does not limit or exclude consumer guarantees or other rights that cannot legally be limited or excluded.
